Dear Work Neighbor,
Three times I have caught myself mid-choke in response to your bodily noises. I kindly request that you could put a cap on the runny nose blowing until I finish my delightful, Caprese sandwich. Fifteen minutes. That’s all I ask. Regretfully yours, Cube Mate

WatchWatch
Chef Geoff’s Once upon a time, there was a blond haired (sort of), blue-eyed American University student who worked at a restaurant down the street from her campus. She was the worst waitress in the history of waitresses and made a wise decision to leave her job before she was fired. (She arguably had/has the shakiest hands of anyone she’s ever encountered. That did not bode well for...

Happy Birthday!
Today, January 26 marks a very special day in history. On this day, exactly 23 years ago, our lovely Dani Sass made her way into this beautiful world. Though I can only be sure of the last 4 of these short years, I’m pretty sure this woman came out of the womb in full ROCK mode ready to rage. D, happy birthday! Let’s party DCR style tonight.

I am being...
…all shades of inappropriate at work today. I blame my friend Ash who is in town from England, my friend Justin who came down to kidnap my friend Ash who is in town from England, the Jaeger Bomb we took when I interrupted said kidnapping plans for an impromptu college throw-back visit to McFadden’s, the tequila shot, the lack of sleep, the morning Charlie Horse which woke me when my...

Founding Farmers
Last night, I went out to dinner at Founding Farmers with three of my main ladies. Located right on Pennsylvania Ave., just three blocks from the White House, it was an escape into a farm-like setting with worn wooden walls and rustic touches. The drinks were ah-may-zing and the dates wrapped in bacon were delish.                                   Butttt, and big but, the service was terrible....

Confession
Despite my “love” for coffee, I’m a great big faker. I don’t love coffee, I love chocolate in the guise of coffee. See here. Enter my savior/budget saver. Swiss Miss Pick Me Up. Hot Chocolate with extra caffeine? Yes, please! Bonus: It’s so so good!

Up In The Air
Ryan took me to see “Up in the Air” last night. I spent the last 15 minutes of the movie pretending I wasn’t crying while trying to prevent the tell-tale mascara streaks to no avail. If you’re the one, lonely person in this world who doesn’t already adore Mr. Clooney, this movie will do the trick. On a side note, Vera Farmiga, we’re going to have some words if...

Let me let me upgrade ya
I have been making excuses not to exercise for as long as I can remember. It’s too cold. It’s too hot. I don’t have time. I don’t have the right clothes. I look like a deer when I run. Well, no more. For Christmas, my mom, an avid rower, received a fab new rowing machine from my Dad meaning yours truly was gifted the hand-me down. I got up a few minutes (baby steps) early...

Google Voice
I recently received (okay, requested and then received) an invite for the new Google Voice. While all of the features are super sweet, I’m most excited about getting a new 202 number without losing my 860 roots. Now, we can hook-up the Google number to our apartment doorbell and our lazy bums won’t have to trek allllll the way from the third floor to the first to answer the door. Ahhh,...

Avatar. Fine, I'll go.
I have been hating on Avatar for the simple reason that it’s a sci-fi flick that is no wayrelated to Star Trek, my one true love. (It’s true and I have no qualms admitting to it). Well, no more. I’m going tonight to see it in IMAX 3D with some cool cats. I’ll send a tentative thank you out to my roomie and Ryan for forcing me to reconsider my twisted logic. Will report back...

New Year's Resolution(s)
It is only 4 days into the new year and I am already loaded with resolutions for the 2-0-1-0. Now, just to make them happen! In lieu of an undoubtedly abandoned paper list, I’ve decided the best way to remind/revisit my goals is to put them somewhere I can always find them. Here. My top 5 for 2010: Be more patient (I’m afraid this will be on the 2011, 2012, 2013… lists and...
